Work Safe BC Injury – Physiotherapy

I Was Injured at Work – What do I do?

As of June 1, 2022 the new WSBC Physiotherapy Services Contract is moving from block-billing funding to a fee for service model which consists of 3 different periods:

  1. Initial assessment -> includes one visit and an initial report
  2. Treatment period -> includes up to 15 visits or 6 weeks, which ever comes first
  3. Extension -> includes a customisable approved time period and maximum number of visits

For all work-related injuries, WorkSafeBC will pay for your initial visit as long as your claim is registered with WorkSafeBC and you have a claim number. Further physiotherapy treatment may be covered after your claim is approved. A referral from your doctor is not necessary. On approved claims, there is no fee for service.

Please make sure to fill out the Work Safe BC intake form which will be emailed to you after booking you initial appointment.

After an injury you must:

  1. Report your injury to your employer.
  2. Seek medical attention for your injury as soon as possible. Be sure to tell your doctor that your injury is work-related.
  3. Report your injury to WorkSafeBC as soon as possible:
  4. Book your initial physiotherapy appointment, and notify us that your injury is work-related.
  5. Call us to book 604-983-6616 as not all our Physiotherapist are accepting Work Safe BC claims
