Hi this is Dana Ranahan of Body Works Sports Physiotherapy and I’m out in the garden today cleaning up some soil, it’s a good time of the year to do that but we want to be sure you don’t hurt yourself.
So if you’re using a shovel and looking at moving some dirt in your yard, careful first how you approach the soil because sometimes when we do a jarring motion, it can really hurt our back. When we go to approach the dirt, think about using your core muscles to help you, when you lift it use your legs.
