Gardening Warm up Tips March 2016

Here is a short video on how to warm-up for gardening to avoid injury and stay pain free! Get out and have fun in the garden!

Hi this is Dana Ranahan at Body Works Sports Physiotherapy and it’s that time of year that we get out in the garden and start tidying things up for spring, it’s nice to see a little bit of sunshine this morning and warmer weather. Before we get started remember to do a little warm up. I’ve got my gloves on, I’m all ready to go but before I do I’m going to do a little bit of a stretch getting my arms warmed up, side to side, bringing arms across the body and doing a little bit of stretching through my forearms before I start. If you’re going to be bending, remember to do a little bit of a warmup, even maybe a few touches of your toes, a few back arches before you start.
