Hi, this is Dana Ranahan of Body Works Sports Physiotherapy in North Vancouver and I’m here today to show you a couple points of IMS to help release tightness in the shoulder, especially the rotator cuff so we’ll take a look here at the shoulder. Come on, zoom in and we’re going to see some tightness in the Infraspinatus muscle which is at the back of the shoulder so we be sure that we have the scapula border here covered and we’re going to use our IMS needle which I’ve already cleaned the area and do a little point into the Infraspinatus muscle to help release tension and then out it comes. IMS is a very useful technique for releasing tightness around the shoulder of the rotator cuff to help improve mobility as well as movement control in the shoulder.
