Fitting your Body to your Bike and Avoiding Upper Body Injury! Part 2

Hi, this is Dana Ranahan with Body Works Physiotherapy. We have Doug who’s doing the GranFondo in Penticton this weekend and we’re looking at how his body is on his bike or his fit of his body on his bike to eliminate some of his neck and shoulder issues that he’s having.

So when we take a look at Doug’s position, we’ve just corrected some of his hip position to help his back stay straighter and now we’re going to give Doug a little bit of a cue just to keep a slight bend in his elbow, that’s better Doug, a little bit of a 30 degree bend. That allows his back to stay neutral and takes away some of the shock absorption up into the neck and shoulders so allows a little bit of softening through the upper body.

If you have any questions give us a call at 604-983-6616 and we wish Doug a great trip.
