Posture Break Tip #1 – Help Alleviate Neck Pain At Work

Do you get neck pain or headaches working at the computer all day?

Check out our Posture Break Tips Video #1 for some great and basic tips on keeping your posture better and alleviating neck pain and back pain and headaches.

Hi this is Dana Ranahan at Body Works Sport Physiotherapy and we’re here today to talk about some posture break tips. Do you get stuck at the computer for long periods? Well here are some things you need to do. We’re going to show you a couple quick things that you can do to make things better. Often when your get working, you’ll find that you tend to slouch forward as you’re working at the screen which puts your neck into a really bad position and start to give you headache and neck pain. So one of the things we suggest, every 30 to 60 minutes in the day, is take a break and do something to change your posture. An important thing you can do is sit back and sink your hips back into the chair so you’re right back in the chair, think about nodding the chin in, lengthening your neck, that will stretch it out a little bit at the back and help you to be straighter for work. Then tuck yourself in so you’re nice and close and able to work.

That’s our posture tip for today. Give it a try and let us know how you make out. Have a great day.
