Knee Strengthening – terminal knee extension – helps walking

This is a simple terminal knee extension exercise to help you control knee straightening. This will assist with returning to a better walking pattern after a knee injury.

This is an exercise to work on controlling straightening of the knee in a weight-bearing position.

  • Just try to keep your body neutral, so that your hips don’t sway back and forth.
  • All we want to see is a little bend of the knee and straighten out with the band affixed to something like a leg of a chair or table.
  • Working on pulling back, trying to focus the movement on the knee and working on controlling the knee.

This terminal knee extension will help your ability to return to walking after a knee injury, and get better strength and control in that last bit of straightening.
