Do you get neck pain or headaches working at the computer all day? Check out our great tips on keeping better posture to alleviate neck pain, back pain and headaches.
Hi this is Dana Ranahan at Body Works Sport Physiotherapy and we’re here today to talk about some posture break tips. Do you get stuck at the computer for long periods?
Often when you’re working, you’ll find that you tend to slouch forward, which puts your neck into a really bad position. This can give you headaches and neck pain. So one of the things we suggest, every 30 to 60 minutes in the day, is take a break and do something to change your posture.
- Sit back and sink your hips back into the chair so you’re right back in the chair
- Think about nodding the chin in and lengthening your neck
- That will stretch it out a little bit at the back and help you to be straighter for work and alleviate neck pain.
- Then tuck yourself in so you’re nice and close and able to work.
That’s our posture tip for today. Give it a try and let us know how you make out. Have a great day.
