The wall squat with an exercise ball is a great exercise for people with knee osteoarthritis as it helps to strengthen the muscles that support the knee joint.
To perform the exercise:
*Stand with your back against a wall and place an exercise ball between your lower back and the wall.
*Slowly bend your knees and lower your body down into a squat position, keeping your back against the wall.
*Hold the squat position for 10-15 seconds.Slowly straighten your legs and return to the starting position.
*Repeat the exercise for 10-15 repetitions. It’s important to keep your knees in line with your toes, and avoid letting your knees go past your toes as it can put extra stress on the knee joint.
*It’s always a good idea to consult with your physical therapist or doctor before starting any new exercise program, especially if you have knee osteoarthritis.
