Manual Therapy

At Body Works Sports Physiotherapy, our therapists use specialized “hands on” techniques , such as:

  • manually testing joint mobility
  • ligament stability testing
  • joint mobilization
  • joint manipulation
  • stretching
  • myofascial release
  • soft tissue mobilization
  • and neural mobilization

Manual Therapy TechniqueThese techniques are used assess and treat the movement dysfunctions in your body that are affecting your mobility or ability to participate in sports and recreational activities.

Our physiotherapists complete a detailed biomechanical assessment of the muscles, joints, fascia and nerves to determine where you need the most assistance.  We then implement manual therapy techniques to assist you with regaining movement or learning to control excessive movement.

This video demonstrates what Manual therapy is and how it works. We use our hands to assess and treat stiff joints or tight muscles. This helps you move better and feel better and alleviate pain.

We use Manual Therapy in combination with other services, such as Acupuncture, IMS, Movement Retraining and Core Strengthening, to provide you with the most comprehensive care possible.  Our focus is  to  get your body working again  and get you back on the path to achieving your sport, recreation, health and lifestyle  goals.
