Emily Makihara

 

Emily grew up in Burnaby, BC, and graduated from Trinity Western University with a degree in Human Kinetics.

Currently, Emily is completing her prerequisites to apply to physiotherapy schools, driven by her passion for healthcare and helping others. A sports enthusiast, Emily has explored activities from archery to ice hockey and even holds a scuba diving certification. Her long-standing passion for netball has led her to play at the provincial level and coach high school teams, and she currently plays on a mixed team in North Vancouver. Emily will continue to work towards her goal of becoming a physiotherapist.

Before joining the world of physical rehabilitation, Emily worked as a dental assistant, where she developed a strong commitment to patient care. Her desire to pursue physiotherapy ignited while participating in her school’s athletic therapy program, reinforcing her dedication to supporting individuals on their recovery journeys.

At the front desk, Emily greets every patient with warmth and a friendly smile, creating a welcoming environment that sets a positive tone for their visit. She’s committed to making each experience as pleasant and stress-free as possible
