Body Works Sports Physiotherapy was started by registered physiotherapist, educator and avid cyclist Dana Ranahan in 2009. After a number of years working in larger sports physiotherapy clinics where therapists treated multiple patients at a time, Dana had a vision to create a dedicated physiotherapy clinic that focuses on individual needs with one-on-one dedicated assessment and treatment times.
Dana brings extensive experience in working with Olympic level athletes, including at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Short Track Speed Skating venue, as well as numerous other Olympic level and National level athletes. She also has achieved advanced certification in Sports Physiotherapy, advanced training in manual therapy (FCAMT) as well as sharing her knowledge through teaching and mentoring younger physiotherapists.
Focusing on sport and active living, Dana tailored her practice to help people realize their full potential and achieve their personal best, whether it is the high level athlete, weekend warrior or the mature athlete with a desire to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. Her passion is getting back to doing what they love. And this is the strong work ethic, compassion, determination and positive energy that Dana empowers her team and patients at Body Works with to help them to achieve their very best.
With more than 35 years of collective experience the Body Works team is comprised of a group of highly educated and accomplished physiotherapists whose philosophy is to take the time to assess your whole body to determine the root cause of your problem and customize a treatment plan that works for you. We use the most up-to-date techniques in manual therapy, IMS, acupuncture, exercise and movement retraining to get you moving again and back to enjoying your active lifestyle.
Bodyworks Sports Physiotherapy Clinic is an excellent provider of physiotherapy services. Dana and Jacqueline are extremely competent and caring professionals who offer effective treatment and clear explanations of the problem and their approach to dealing with it, including IMS, acupuncture, ultrasound and manual therapy.
They have helped me a great deal as well as other members of my family who have presented with a variety of problems. I would have no hesitation in recommending Body Works services and therapists in this efficiently run clinic.
